Assessing your Art
When you finish your typography collages I would like you to go onto the blog site, get signed in and respond to the following questions in the comments section below. I would like for you to assess the artwork that you have created and get your insights on the lesson as well.1. Tell me what stands out in your artwork that makes you enjoy looking at it-you must choose one thing and tell me why you believe that section is successful.
2. I chose to have you create this artwork because it gets you to think about shading in a new element. It is an abstract way of thinking that will help you to truly see value in the form of ink with works-AKA Typography. With that said tell me what part of this assignment was a struggle for you and if you could have changed one thing in this assignment what would it have been.
3. Next I would like you too look on the board of similar projects from the other Art 2 classes and describe one of the artworks that you really like and I would like for you to use at least 5 art terms to describe their artwork in full detail. Please write in complete sentences.
In my art work of Marilyn Monroe I believe that my nose the the most successful. I have shown a nice contrast between the depths of the nose through shading it with different colors and lettering of newspaper. I struggled showing the depths of her checks. It's difficult to show something like this with only newspaper, but nothing is impossible. I also would have changed her hair. I believe I painted it a little fuller then it actually should have been. One of the artworks i really enjoy looking at is of Johnny Depp, she has shown a nice contrast in colors of depth, especially for his check bones. The color of the hair and shading almost looks real. The painting with the orange is a very nice contrast with the face, I believe she has successfully accomplished this piece! :)
ReplyDeleteIn my artwork that I did of Niall Horan, I believe that his hair was most successful. I used smaller pieces of newspaper/magazine to make it look more realistic. I really like the shading I did in the hair, because it made the lighter parts of the hair stand out. The part of this project that was a struggle for my was probably trying to make it look as I could. When I would mess up in an area, it was really hard to fix because the glue would already be dry .. One of the artworks I really enjoyed looking at was the one of Leonardo Dicaprio. I love how the suit turned out in that one, like with the shading the person did with shirt and it really did look like a button down shirt. I also like the shading in the hair and and also the size of the pieces she used made the hair look realistic.
ReplyDeleteIn my art work of Bette Davis, my favorite part that i did was her eyes. I used a blueish white paper to stand out of all the white and black i did in her face. On thing that that i had trouble with was her hair. I did a black and white picture so there was a lot of white in one area and maybe a little black or a lot of black and a little white. If i could of changed that i would of did the hair my own way and free style it to make it look better. The one picture that really caught my eye was the johnny Depp. i like how many colors were used. and i liked how they only did one side of the face.
ReplyDeletein my artwork of a firefighter, my most successful part was probably the glass in the mask.i used black and white on the fire fighter and then used bright colors in the background. they contrasted with the fire fighter and made the crest in the back stand out. if i could have changed one thing i would have done the arms more realistic and done a different background. i like the one with the leaves on it ... i don't know who it is but i like it because it is different and looks like it gives it a different dimension.
ReplyDeleteIn my art work of Tom Hiddleston , my favorite part is the eyes. I used a bright green section of paper to make the eyes pop against the black and white face. I struggled the most with creating some of the facial features. If I could have changed one thing, I would have added more shading in certain parts of the face. Someone else's project that I like is Megan's portrait of Katniss. Many aspects of her project are unique and really stand out and pop. I especially like the texture created by the leaves as the hair. The color of the leaves puts an emphasis on the hair as well.
ReplyDeleteI like the suit in my artwork, I believe it stands out because of the tan color of it. It was hard to find the type of text to use for the shading to show the darks and lights. If you found what you were looking for but there wasn’t enough then you had to try and find some to match it. I would like to try to do it on the computer using adobe Illustrator so you can change the font and colors of it to match the picture. I like the picture of the fire fighter that they used pastels to do. They had good shading and the words in red were easy to read because of the color contrast. I like to shading in the mask the most and the transition from dark to light.
